The Alchemy of Fire, Breath & Sand
A comprehensive look at our four-stage thermal glassmaking discipline—transforming molten silica into heirloom crystal vessels at our dedicated Agra works.
Raw Batch Mix & Optical Neutrality
Our molten glass begins with ultra-pure quartz silica sand carefully calibrated with iron-oxide impurities kept strictly below 0.015%.
Rare-earth mineral decolorizers such as neodymium and cerium are introduced into the crucible to cancel greenish hues naturally, creating surgical crystal clarity before the batch is fused in our 1,400°C furnace.
The 1,400°C Gather & Mouth-Blowing
A master glassmaker dips an insulated stainless blowpipe into the crucible to capture a glowing ball of molten silica.
Working entirely freehand with soaked pear-wood blocks, jacks, and centrifugal rotation, breath is introduced into the core. Subtle fluting or optical ribs are formed using custom graphite tooling, giving every vessel its unmistakable organic balance.
Continuous Lehr Annealing
Rapidly cooled glass shatters under molecular tension. As soon as a vessel is shaped, it transfers to our electronically controlled annealing lehr oven.
Over a multi-zone 24 to 72 hour ramp-down cycle, internal atomic stress is progressively relieved. Polariscope optical filters verify zero residual birefringence so each piece can withstand rigorous international maritime transit.
Diamond Lapidary & Acid Polishing
Once cold, rims are cracked off with oxygen micro-burners and smoothed over flat horizontal diamond wheels to achieve an exact planar mouth.
Artisans carve geometric facets, bevel the solid base, and polish surfaces using cerium-oxide slurry pads. The finished glass is then prepped for custom ISTA-3A export packaging and container dispatch.
